Please note a change in the Monday night group here in Ashland that we will not start our hooking time until 630pm. Also we will only be meeting once a month in Oct-Dec due to my work schedule. Thank you for your understanding. Katie
Beautiful day yesterday at the Country Living Fair in Columbus. I have never been but will go again next year for sure. Who knew you could recycle so much! Take the old trophies from your attic, cut the people statue off and paint it, attach it to a wodden board and wah lah you have a new coat rack for $90. I think I shall go on a scavenger hunt next time I go to my parent's house to find all those old things in the attic, become famous for my creativity. Wonder what I could do with my batons. LOL Wanted to thank all of you Buckeye Rug Hooking Guild Members that demonstrated at the fair. We had a lot of interest come to the tent and alot of laughter. Happy people are sure to draw the crowds. Thank you guild members. We hope to see many of those visitors at our fall meeting at Cherry Valley Lodge in October. Coming up this week Linda Powell will join us at the Wadsworth Library on Thursday, Sept 20. 430-730. She plans to present her program at around 5pm on Favorite Rugs. She will give us a jump start on our new project for the year.

The Moment

There I was sitting in my peaceful chair in the corner of my kitchen. The aroma of a cinnamon coffeecake baking. My window opened feeing the coolness of the fall morning. My kitty,Odo,purring at my side. The sound of birds busy at their day outside. Sipping my fresh cup of coffee with my favorite creamer. There it was that refreshing moment I have been waiting to have. Then gone in an instant as I engaged with email and text from hubby reminding me I needed to schedule the family portrait for our church directory. My ADD brain swelled with activity once more. AGH! Life has been full. That is my nice way of saying golly gee I have been way too busy. Claire is doing well at college, she has adjusted well. She has now had two great grades on two different class exams and I am thrilled for her to have some successes. David is tuned in to his studies as well and has found new talent with the Video Production Team at school. Hubby has found a new hobby as well- target practice. Hooking began last night here at home. Nine lovely ladies gathered around the table to share their tales and sip some coffee. Refreshing time. Some are working on fall projects while others tarry at finishing so many pieces they have started ages ago. A fine group that encourages and inspires one another. I am blessed to share time with them all. Off to see what this group of ladies has in store for me this morning at class. One thing I know we will be eating a yummy coffeecake still warm from the oven. Pictures to follow. Have a blessed day and I pray you all can have that "moment" of peace like I did this morning- I just hope yours lasts longer!! Katie
