BRR, quite cold here in North Central Ohio. Just enjoyed a weekend hook in at Sauder Village. It was well done as always. Could not have asked for better company. Sisters Mollie and Marty, Teri, and Sue shared the table while listening to some very interesting conversation with Heidi and Jane. Lots of laughs and constructive time hooking. Currently working on Ensee Bed Rug from House of Price. Joyce Kruegger designed and made hers for teacher's workshop in brown monochromatic. I love brown and blues together. I overdyed a boatload of textured wool in Canning Jar Blue(Wendy Miller, Red Saltbox recipe). The outcome is a monochromatic of sorts however the background is a coffeebean color. This one will take some time to finish I think. Especially since I also just started a new footstool of wonderful colors. As most of you, too many patterns, so little time to do.
I met some great gals from Michigan and look forward to hookin up with them again in June at the Manistee Rug Camp.
I must say even though the temperature is low here it does not compare with the chilling trip I had a week ago with Dianne Kelly. We traveled by car down to Jacksonville for The Hooking Off the Ocean camp. Nice camp run by Judy Colley and Katie Puckett. It is my 5th year to attend. Unfortunately we were delayed in our arrival after sitting on 77South for over 12 hrs. It was decided unbeknownst to all that the highway was closed due to accidents and inclement weather. We sat all night waiting for traffic to move. So grateful for our rugs and wool that we took with us. It kept us warm. We took shirts our of our suitcases to cover our heads, resembling Russian Peasant Women. Unfortunately I did not heed my mother's infamous advice of always planning for "getting stuck in the middle of nowhere"... I am now prepared for just that. Dianne and I had some good laughs. We wanted to have smiles on our faces when "they" found us frozen stiff. What a trip!
So how appropriate that I should work on a bedrug!
Actually Dianne color planned the smapler of Lori Brechlin "My House Sampler". I completed it this past week. Golds and Reds- turned our nicely.
As many of you await the football game today, I can't wait for Downton Abby to start!

Diane taught me to hook and she is such a hoot., so I can imagine the trip you had together, just glad you didn't freeze, you gals have too much hooking to do for that to happen. Yeah for wool!!!! I love Downton Abbey, wish it was on twice a week. Stay warm.
