What an amazing day we had yesterday at Kingwood Center in Mansfield, OH. We had 114 in attendance, an all time high for our show and hook in. Santa was able to swing by on his way home from Florida where he had been vacationing. He made a crash landing into the duck pond. We had the naughty and the nice in the presence of Santa who rewarded several attendees accordingly.
Our live and silent auctions afforded us to have Kingwood 2014. We covered expenses and will donate the remaining $92.53 to Samaritan's Purse. This is an organization that offers assistance to disaster areas and sends shoe boxes filled with toys and such to underprivileged children in the United States and Foreign countries.
I am so grateful for all your generosity to help make this show possible!!
Annette Dixie was our winner in the challenge piece. A Groovy style Christmas tree drawn by Karla Gerard. The challenge was to use vintage 1960-1970 colors. Many made their patterns into pillows, atop a wooden box, and simple mats. Thank you for all that contributed.
Our festive eats included many homemade Christmas cookies, Slushy Cranberry Punch, snacks and cheese balls. Christmas music welcomed all who "shopped til they dropped" in the vendor's room. Thank you to Alice, Kris, Betsy, Linda, Donna, Kate, Susan, Amy, Debbie, Lauren, Dianne, and Fitch girls who offered their hooking needfulls and such to our captive audience.
2014 brings our theme, "Be My Valentine" ,the date to be announced.
